The Scottish Rebellion

Well, I’m not going to wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

When I was a little girl, my dad told me stories about when he was a little boy. His mother made him wear orange to school on St. Patrick’s Day since, “We’re proud Scots!” Poor dad came home black-and-blue with bruises from all the pinching.

Still, he enjoyed telling me, “We’re proud Scots!”

Not that I have anything against the Irish.

After all, you can’t be quite as taken with Colin Farrell as I am and not like the Irish. And I love an Irish accent. It’s a good thing there weren’t any Irish guys after me at Moody, or I might be posting this from the Emerald Isle!

Instead, since this week begins Holy Week, I’d like to direct you to Alice’s amazing post on her fascination with Easter.

I know you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!

Thanks for the kind comments, Ann-Marie! I actually have some Scotch-Irish blood on one side of the family, so those ancestors would've probably been wearing orange too! (Green is much more flattering! :))

Well, Dearest Daughter of Mine...Since I am half Irish, you may wear green!

I also remember Dad telling us that he had to wear orange instead of green...or orange if you wish.

Sorry, but that last sentence should have been...you may wear either color or both for that matter.

Thanks for the referral! :-)

I'm English, Scots-Irish, and Swiss. So apparently I'm at war with myself, but I have someone to mediate neutrality.

I just ignore the day altogether and that seems to work well enough =)

I was about to say before I read your mother's post... YOU ARE IRISH! lol. But your mother said it for me. Maybe you should wear an orange pants and green shirt? That would go over well!
