In Memory of Jean

Many of you know how close I was to Brett's mom, Jean. It came as quite a surprise to us, but not to God, when He decided to take her home on December 9, 2005. This past December, 2006, we all gathered to remember a godly woman, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We also visited the cemetery to look at the beautiful grave marker Brett's Dad had created to commemorate an amazing woman.

Has it been that long all ready? It seems so much shorter than a year. Wow.
His mom was a very sweet lady and she was missed at our ladies retreat last year (as were you). Every time she would come, she had a smile and was always fun to be around.

That is so sweet of you, Heidi! I know she enjoyed meeting all the women at Morningstar!

Can I share a little "secret" with you? That was a very difficult ladies retreat for me - no one talked to us, sat with us, or even tried to get to know us. I was so embarrassed I had brought my mom and mother-in-law, since it appeared no one wanted to talk to us. Plus I was still a new member! Maybe I should go to the next one? Maybe I'd have a better time now?

I am sorry to hear that. I am trying to remember back two years to it and I thought you were fitting right in.
I hope you can go to the next one. I am debating about going myself as I will have a new baby to tote along.
